WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis track & field opened their outdoor season at the Keystone Challenge at Shippensburg University's Seth Grove Stadium on Saturday.
>> The teams combined for two event victories and 23 top-8 finishes.
>> Just like at the first meet of the indoor season,
Julian Saunders and
Olivia Renk each won an event at the season-opening outdoor meet. Saunders took first in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.75 and also finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.78. As for Renk, she came out victorious in the women's 100-meter with a time of 12.24. Her time puts her seventh all-time in the Saint Francis record books.

FLASH MEN NUGGETS
Along with Saunders' two top-2 finishes, the men's team finished the day with 12 top-8 finishes.
Saunders,
James Parmelee,
Seamus Girdusky, and
Jayden Foster took second in the men's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:30.26.
Clark Gulycz continues his hot streak at the Keystone Challenge with a second place finish in the men's shot put. The freshman finished with a throw of 16.25m, the fourth-best mark on the top-10 performance list for men's shot put.
In the jumps,
Tyler Craft also had a second place finish in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.00m. It is the 10th best jump in the event in Saint Francis men's outdoor track & field history.
In the men's weight throw,
Owen Degnan (48.24m) and
Joseph Sevison (46.05m) placed fifth and eighth, respectively.
Jasiyah Banks took fifth in the men's long jump with a jump of 6.67m.
Dylan Andrews came in fifth in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 4.20m.
Haiden Litwinovich finished sixth in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.36.
Rounding out the top-8 finishes was
Ayden Martinage (high jump: 1.80m) and
Eaghan Kieff (200-meter dash: 22.73) coming in seventh in their respective events.
FLASH WOMEN NUGGETS
The women's team accumulated 11 top-8 finishes, including Renk's event victory.
Carly Sedun and
Rylee Nicklas each had top-8 finishes in the same events. Sedun finished third in the women's weight throw with a mark of 49.00m and also placed sixth in discus with a throw of 38.66m. Nicklas on the other hand took eighth in both discus (38.11m) and weight throw (42.10m).
In the women's 4x400 relay, Renk,
Sarah Colman,
Gabriella del Pielago and
Baylee Carpenter placed third with a time of 4:05.32. Colman also had a top-8 finish in the women's 800-meter dash, coming in fifth with a time of 2:24.21.
Anna Quackenbush registered a fifth place finish in the women's 1500-meter run, clocking in at a time of 4:47.67.
In the women's long jump,
Paige Drake (5.39m) and
Brooke Long (5.30m) finished fourth and seventh, respectively.
Rounding out the top finishers was
Gianna Anderson, who took eighth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.04m.
