Women's Tennis Knocks Off Seton Hall For Fourth Consecutive Win

Ebensburg, Pa. – The Saint Francis University Women's Tennis team won their fourth match in a row when they defeated Seton Hall 5-2 on Friday afternoon.

The Red Flash are now 11-5 on the season.

Doubles 
The Red Flash claimed victory in the no. 1 and 2 doubles matches to take an early lead over the Pirates.

Diana Zuba and Dasha Chichkina won the no. 1 match 6-3 to kick things off. The pair are now 15-14 together this season. Zuba and Chichkina are both 16-15 individually in doubles action this seaon.

Reagen Mangan and Sara Jankovic battled to a 7-5 win in a back-and-forth no. 2 doubles match to earn Saint Francis a 1-0 lead in the contest. The sophomore duo is 12-7 when playing together this season. Mangan and Jankovic are 13-9 and 15-10 individually in doubles this season respectively.

Kelly Dowuona and Morgan Tuffs were defeated 4-6 in the no. 3 match.

Singles 
Saint Francis won the no. 1, 2, 4 and 5 singles matches to earn their 5-2 win over Seton Hall

Zuba won a hard-fought no. 1 singles match in a 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) result. The sophomore is 22-6 now on the year in singles.

Chichkina won her second tough match in a row with a 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (10-6) win in the no. 2 singles match and brought the Red Flash on the verge of clinching a win. Chichkina is now to 19-7 in singles after her win.

Dowuona clinched the match for the Red Flash from the no. 4 slot with a win in straight sets, claiming a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Dowuona is now 18-11 in singles this season.

Kally Kadzinski earned a fifth point for Saint Francis with her 6-4, 6-2 win in the no. 5 singles match. The Parkland, Fla. native is now 16-11 in singles this season.

Flash Facts

The Red Flash earned their first ever victory over a Big East school with their win over Seton Hall on Friday. They were 0-6 against the conference entering the day.

Zuba has won four singles matches in a row and 11 of her last 12.

Chichkina is now just one win away from her 20th career singles win. She entered the top 20 for all-time singles and overall wins in program history. The reigning NEC Rookie of the Week sits 20th in both charts.

Jankovic notched the 30th doubles win of her career on the day.

Mangan and Jankovic are now each just one win shy of 50 total career wins. 

Saint Francis have put together their second four-match win streak of the season. They are 10-2 over their last 12 contests.

The Red Flash are now just two wins away from tying the program record for most wins in a season. The record is 13 wins and was reached in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
