Men's Tennis Knocks Off Lake Superior State, Women's Tennis Falls To UNC Wilmington

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – Both Saint Francis University Tennis teams wrapped up their spring break trip down south on Thursday morning. The men's team earned a 5-2 victory over Lake Superior State, while the women's team were defeated 7-0 by UNC Wilmington.

Men's Results: Saint Francis 5, Lake Superior State 2.

Doubles 
Lake Superior State won the no. 1 and 2 doubles matches to take the doubles point and an early lead.

Kevin Titus Suresh and Matt Kozar had the sole Red Flash doubles win on the afternoon in a 6-3 result.

Singles 
Saint Francis won the no. 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 singles matches to earn their 5-2 victory over the Lakers.

Alan Gonzalez won the no. 1 match in an emphatic 6-1, 6-1 result. The sophomore is now 11-8 in singles on the year.

Titus Suresh also dominated in his singles match in the no. 2 slot, rolling to a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Titus Suresh is now 14-5 in singles this season, a team-best mark.

Kevin Kruzel battled to a 7-5, 2-6, 11-9 win in the no. 4 position. The senior won his fifth singles match of the year.

Kozar continued his winning ways in the no. 5 match with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 win. Kozar is now 6-4 in singles on the season.

Beau Welker capped off an impressive day for Saint Francis with a 6-3, 7-5 win in the no. 6 slot. The Sandy, Utah native is now 8-3 this season.

Women's Results: Saint Francis 0, UNC Wilmington 7.  

Doubles 
UNCW Wilmington won the no. 1 and 2 doubles matches to claim the doubles point.

The lone Red Flash win on the day came from the pairing of Reagen Mangan and Sara Jankovic in the no. 3 doubles match. The duo won 7-5.

Singles 
The Seahawks won all six singles matches to complete their shutout of the Red Flash.

Diana Zuba and Kally Kadzinski took their respective opponents in the no. 1 and 4 matches to a matchbreaker.

Flash Facts 
Mangan earned the 25th doubles victory of her career.

Kozar has won his last three matches total.

Titus Suresh has now won four singles matches in a row and last five overall.
