Hershey, Pa. – The Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis teams were both defeated in their respective matches against FDU on Friday afternoon.
The men's team lost 5-2 and the women's team lost 4-3.
Women's Tennis
Saint Francis 3, FDU 4.
Doubles
The Knights won the no. 1 and 2 doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Kelly Dowuona and
Kally Kadzinski won the no. 3 doubles match 6-4. The pair are now 13-7 when playing together this season. Dowuona is 19-13 individually in doubles and Kadzinski is 17-11.
Singles
Saint Francis earned three solo wins on the day, emerging victorious in the no. 2, 3 and 5 singles matches.
Dasha Chichkina won the no. 2 singles match in a 6-3, 6-3 result. The reigning NEC Rookie of the Week is now 22-8 on the year in singles play.
Kelly Dowuona was the victor in the no. 4 match by a score of 7-5, 6-4. The junior is now 22-11 in singles this season.
Kally Kadzinski earned a win in the no. 5 singles match 6-1, 6-1. The Parkland, Fla., native collected her 20
th singles win of the year.
Men's Tennis
Saint Francis 2, FDU 5.
Doubles
The Knights swept doubles play on the men's side to earn the doubles point.
Singles
Saint Francis won the top two singles matches to make it a 5-2 result.
Alan Gonzalez won the no. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-1 to improve to 14-11 on the season.Â
Kevin Titus Suresh was victorious in the no. 2 match, winning 0-6, 6-1, 7-6 (10-6). The two-time NEC Rookie of the Week is now 18-7 on the year and has won three singles contests in a row.
Despite losing in the end,
Gregory Troyan put forth a valiant effort in a 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-7 (10-7) defeat.

Kadzinski and Dowuona have now each won five singles matches in a row.
Titus Suresh's singles victory on Friday was the 30
th of his young career.
Kadzinski hit the 60-win mark with her two victories against the Knights.
After winning against FDU in singles, Gonzalez is just one win shy of 60 wins for his career.
Dowuona, now the all-time program leader in wins, grew her total to 106 with her wins on the day.
