THE WORD ON PITT
Pitt is 17-27 overall with a 6-15 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference, splitting a conference series 2-1 against Virginia Tech, defeating the Hokies 7-6 (9 inn.) and 6-3. This was the first series win against a ranked opponent for the Panthers, as Virginia Tech was ranked No. 11 at the beginning of the series.
Kylie Griggs leads the Panthers with a .331 batting average, 30 runs scored and 43 hits. Infielder Kaitlyn Brannstrom has 272 putouts to lead Pitt. Gwen Sparks leads the Panthers' pitching staff with a 3.79 ERA and 47 batters struck out.

Saint Francis is 11-26 all-time against the Panthers. In Loretto in 2023, the Red Flash fell to Pitt 4-0. The Panthers scored three of its runs on two home runs.

Saint Francis improved to 18-23 overall and 11-7 against members of the Northeast Conference with a series sweep over Mercyhurst on April 17-18, winning 7-1, 10-1 (6 inn.) and 15-4.
Savannah Nash led batting efforts, going 7-for-12 with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs, seven runs scored and going 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts. Allie Braly led the Red Flash pitching staff with a 0.00 ERA, allowing one unearned run with five strikeouts in her two appearances.
