Softball Clinches Playoff Spot with Wins Over Wagner

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Softball took the Wagner doubleheader 11-2 in five innings and 7-4.

>> Saint Francis clinched a spot in the Northeast Conference Championship Tournament.


TURNING POINTS
In the bottom of the fifth, Addie Smith ground out to third base, scoring one run before Aliya Garroway doubled and allowing Sofia Zielinski to score. With a runner on second, Annabelle Farmer hit a deep ball into center field for a walk-off, two-run home run to win the first game 11-2.

In the bottom of the fourth, Smith doubled with runners on first and second, tying the game two at 4-4. With runners on second and third, Garroway hit a double to deep left field to take a 6-4 lead.


FLASH MOMENTS
The Red Flash started scoring in the bottom of the third, scoring two runs on a hit by pitch and a walk. Zielinski hit a grand slam to take a 6-0 lead in game one.

After the Seahawks tallied two runs, Hannah Bendle hit a home run to extend Saint Francis's lead to 7-2.

Down four in the bottom of the third, Bendle hit a three-run home run to cut the Seahawks' lead in game two.

With Olivia Ulam on third base, Smith hit a single to second base with Ulam scoring on a throwing error to make the score 7-4 in the bottom of the sixth.


FLASH NUGGETS
Savannah Nash led the team in batting, going 4-for-6 with one double, one run scored.

Ulam led the team with four runs scored.

Bendle and Zielinski each earned four RBIs.

Allie Braly pitched game one, allowing two runs (both earned) with one walk and one strikeout. Madelynn Bates pitched the second game, allowing four runs (one earned) with two walks and two strikeouts.
