Softball Wraps Up Regular Season with a Pair of Wins Over Bucknell

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Softball swept Bucknell 7-6 and 3-1 to conclude the regular season.

TURNING POINTS
With Bucknell leading 6-5 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Hannah Bendle hit a home run to tie the game. AB Cipalla and Olivia Ulam each singled, with Sofia Zielinski hitting a single to allow Cipalla to score for the lead.

Game two remained tied until the bottom of the sixth when Ulam reached first base on an error with Bendle scoring from third. Aliya Garroway singled to right field with runners on first and second, earning an RBI and helping Saint Francis take a 3-1 lead.


FLASH MOMENTS
Bucknell took an early 3-0 lead in game one. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Savannah Nash led off with a home run. With Zielinski and Garroway on base, Addie Smith doubled down the first base line to cut the Bison's lead to one. Olivia Kolowitz then hit a three-run home run, the first home run of her career, giving the Red Flash a 5-3 lead.

After Bendle singled to center field and stole second, Ulam grounded out to the second baseman, giving Bendle the scoring opportunity to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first.


FLASH NUGGETS
Bendle went 3-for-6 with one triple, a home run, three runs scored and one RBI.

Ulam recorded 17 putouts at first base.

Olivia Kolowitz pitched game one, allowing six earned runs with seven walks and one strikeout. Madelynn Bates got the start in the second game, allowing one earned run with three walks and one strikeout in six innings.
