Softball Readies for Road Series at LIU

THE WORD ON LIU
LIU is 13-17 with a 7-2 conference record, sweeping Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa. last weekend. Outfielder Lily Hinkle was named NEC Player of the Week, going 9-for-14 with five RBIs, six runs scored, two doubles and two triples. She was joined by Alyssa O'Donnell as Prime Performers.

Hinkle leads the Sharks with 27 runs scored, 30 hits and 21 RBIs this season. Sophia Mariottini leads the LIU pitching staff with a 4.78 ERA and four wins in 74.2 innings pitched.


LAST TIME WE MET THE SHARKS
The Red Flash are 36-47 against LIU, sweeping the Sharks in last season's home series, including a 9-1 run-rule victory.

Olivia Ulam went 3-for-9 with one run scored, one double, one home run and four RBIs, including a walk-off double in the run-rule win, earning Prime Performer recognition.


LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis took one game off of CCSU in a three-game series last weekend. The Red Flash dropped two 2-0 games, winning the second game of Friday's doubleheader 9-5.

Savannah Nash led the team's offensive efforts on the weekend, going 6-for-12 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. She earned NEC Prime Performer for her efforts against the Blue Devils. Olivia Ulam tallied 18 putouts at first base for Saint Francis.

Saint Francis will face Penn State on April 8 for a mid-week matchup against the Nittany Lions.
