SCOUTING TEXAS A&M
The Aggies are Co-Southeast Conference Champions along with Oklahoma and earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M went 45-9 overall and 16-7 in the SEC. This is the Aggies' 23rd consecutive season in the NCAA Tournament.
Emiley Kennedy and Mya Perez were named to the All-SEC First Team, with Mac Barbara, Amari Harper and Koko Wooley making the All-SEC Second Team. Kennedy has a 2.68 ERA with 139 strikeouts in 148.2 innings pitched. Perez leads Texas A&M with a .447 batting average, 63 hits, 68 RBIs and 14 home runs.
Saint Francis has never played the Aggies. The Red Flash are 0-14 against members of the Southeast Conference. Saint Francis faced SEC-member South Carolina in February's Gamecock Invitational, falling 7-0.
SCOUTING LIBERTY
Liberty earned the No. 2 seed in the regional after winning the Conference USA Softball Championship 8-0 over Jacksonville State in five innings. The Lady Flames finished 47-12 overall and 23-3 in conference play. This is Liberty's second consecutive year as CUSA Softball Champions.
In the CUSA's awards, Rachel Roupe won Player of the Year, Elena Escobar received Pitcher of the Year, Savanah Whatley earned Newcomer of the Year and head coach Dot Richardson won Coach of the Year. Roupe leads Liberty with 64 RBIs and 20 home runs. Escobar has a 1.83 ERA and 160 strikeouts in 145.1 innings pitched.
The Red Flash holds the all-time advantage at 5-3 against Liberty. Saint Francis played the Lady Flames in two games in last season's Liberty Softball Classic, dropping games 4-0 and 2-0.
SCOUTING MARIST
Marist is the third seed of the Bryan-College Station Regional after run-ruling Siena 10-2 in the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. The Red Foxes finished the 2025 season 47-7-1 overall and 21-2-1 in the MAAC.
Miah McDonald was named Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, Maddie Pleasants earned Pitcher of the Year and head coach Joe Ausanio won Coach of the Year for the second straight year in this year's MAAC major awards. McDonald leads Marist with a .983 slugging percentage and 24 home runs. Pleasants is a two-way player, leading the team with 70 RBIs and 188 batters struck out.
Saint Francis is tied 6-6 all-time against Marist. The two last met in 2023, where the Red Flash won 6-4. Saint Francis took an early 5-0 lead and held on to win the non-conference matchup.
LAST TIME AT NCAA REGIONALS
Saint Francis appeared in the Austin Regional last season, earning the No. 3 seed in the regional for just the second time in program history. The Red Flash fell to No. 2 Northwestern 7-2 but picked up a 1-0 win against Siena. In the following elimination game, the Wildcats came out on top once again with a 5-1 win.
LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis won the 2025 Northeast Conference Tournament, going 3-0 in the tournament for the title. The Red Flash dominated in its first outing, defeating No. 3 seed FDU 10-2 in five innings. Down 2-0, Saint Francis made a three-run comeback to advance past No. 4 CCSU. In the Championship game, the Red Flash put up five runs in the first inning, shutting out the No. 1 LIU Sharks 6-0 to earn the NCAA Automatic Qualifier.
