Saint Francis men's and women's tennis head coach
Eric Hovan has announced the fall slate for both teams. The men will play in five events, while the women will compete in six events.
"I'm excited for a very challenging fall slate against some high-level teams," said Hovan. We have a remarkably young team, consisting of approximately 80 percent freshmen/sophomores. This experience will help prepare them for another deep run in the conference championships this spring."
Men's Schedule
The men's team will compete in five events during the fall, beginning with the Bloomsburg Invitational on September 6-7. It will be the fifth consecutive season the Red Flash will play in the Bloomsburg Invitational.
The following weekend, the team returns to Bloomsburg for the Bloomsburg Dynamic Duo Tournament, marking the third time in the last four years the team will compete in two events at Bloomsburg in the fall.
For the second consecutive year, the Red Flash will compete in the NEC Individuals on September 19-21, following Binghamton's hosting of the inaugural event last fall.
Saint Francis returns to the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on September 26-27 for the third time in the last four years and the first time since not playing in the event in 2024.
The Red Flash will end the fall slate at the Northeast ITA Regional Championships for the fifth consecutive fall on October 16-19. Princeton will host the men's event.
Women's Schedule
The women's team will play six events in the fall with all six returning from the 2024 fall slate.
Saint Francis opens the 2025 campaign at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational, an event the Red Flash has participated in for the last four years on August 29-30.
The squad heads up to the Nutmeg State for the second straight year to play in former Northeast Conference foe Quinnipiac's Hidden Duals on September 5-7.
A return to the Bucknell Invitational for the fifth consecutive time is on the books for September 13-14 before heading to the NEC Individuals on September 19-21. Just like the men, it is the second consecutive year that the team will participate in the event.
The Loretto program will also compete in the Northeast ITA Regional Championships, with the women's event taking place at the University of Pennsylvania on October 9-14.
Saint Francis will complete the fall slate with a dual match at Buffalo on October 19. It is the sixth time the two teams have tangled since the 2015-16 season and the fourth time in the last five seasons in the fall.
If anyone from the men's or women's team qualifies for the ITA Master's, they would travel to San Diego for the event on November 6-9.
