Saint Francis Men's Soccer Rally Late To Take 2–1 Road Win Over Le Moyne in NEC Opener

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis found a way to get two in the back of the net and secure a 2–1 victory on the road in Syracuse at Ted Grant Field. 
>> Thiago Pires scored his first career goal for the Red Flash, assisted by Brennan Libo and Álvaro Planas , who also notched his first goal of the season later in the match, finishing off a precise cross from Harry Elmore
>> This matchup marked only the second meeting in school history between Saint Francis and Le Moyne. 

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The momentum shifted in the 56th minute when Pires powered a header off a cross from Planas to tie the match 1–1.

The Red Flash held steady until the 77th minute, when Planas delivered a late strike to secure the 2–1 win, giving Saint Francis the advantage for good. 

FLASH MOMENTS 

Jonah Wolf recorded the first attempted shot in conference play for Saint Francis in 2025. 

Alex De Nittis tested the keeper with a corner strike in the 17th minute, and Julian Quiroga forced another save in the 21st as the Red Flash continuously pressured Le Moyne's defense. 

Diego Garciarena made a key save within the first minute of the second half to preserve a 0–0 scoreline early in the period. 

Wolf followed with a shot on goal in the 61st minute, quickly followed by an attempt from Thero Mitchell, keeping Le Moyne's goalkeeper busy.

NUGGETS

Pires and Planas recorded their first goals of the season for Saint Francis. 

 De Nittis made his first start of the 2025 season in the Red Flash's conference opener. 

This game marked only the second meeting between the two programs, with Saint Francis now taking the early lead in the series. 
Libo has now recorded points in back-to-back matches, adding an assist in today's win.
