Korrin Burns (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area), a member of the Saint Francis women's volleyball team, has been named the NEC/Molten Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. It is the fifth time that she earned Player of the Week and eighth time she received a weekly conference award in her career.

Burns, leading the team in kills and kills per set, helped the Red Flash win over Robert Morris with 23 kills. She also threw in 24 kills against UAlbany and 18 against Toledo. With the addition of these two games, Burns is at her ninth 20+ kill game of her career. She also leads the conference in kills (65) and kills per set (5.91). 

The senior was also named Player of the Week two times in 2023, once during August and again in November. Then two more times during 2024, in September and October. Burns now earns her fifth award for this category surpassing Megan Taliaferro as the program record holder since 1997.  

This is the 29th time that a Red Flash women's volleyball player has won Player of the Week, and Burns is the 11th different player to earn the distinction.

Burns and Alexandra Sappia were also named Prime Performers. Sappia collected 107 assists throughout the three matches last weekend, including a 48-assist game in the win against Robert Morris. In all three games, Sappia tallied 20+ assists, which brought her streak to 18 consecutive games. She also leads the conference in assists per set with 9.73.

Saint Francis returns to action on Friday to host the Altoona Grand Red Flash Classic.
