Softball was selected to finish sixth in the NEC Preseason Poll, the conference announced today.

Atop the poll are the Sharks of LIU, ranked No.1 with five first-place votes. Following LIU are CCSU at No.2 with two first-place votes and FDU at No. 3, also with two first-place votes.

The Red Flash enters this season as once again the reigning champions after winning their second consecutive NEC title last spring with a 6-0 shutout against LIU in Brooklyn, New York.

Saint Francis begins the 2026 season with six returners from last year's squad, including three CSC academic All-District award winners: Annabelle Farmer, Aliya Garroway, and Olivia Kolowitz, along with Morgan Pasternak, Haley Brag, and Sofia Zielinski, who were vital parts of last year's championship team.

The Red Flash's first game of the season is scheduled for Friday, Feb.6, against Ohio University in the USC Upstate Spartan Classic at 10 a.m. EST.
