WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Red Flash faced Brown University in a 10:30 a.m. matchup at Kinney Natatorium, falling 16-7.
TURNING POINTS
After a competitive first quarter for both teams, Brown found momentum in the second period to create separation on the scoreboard. The Bears carried that advantage into halftime, while Saint Francis continued to generate offensive opportunities and apply defensive pressure. The Red Flash kept battling through the second half as Brown maintained control of the match.
POOL HIGHLIGHTS
Saint Francis found its offensive rhythm through a balanced scoring effort, led by
Sofia Maioriello and
Caylah Olay with two goals each. Maioriello made an impact on both ends of the pool, finishing 2-for-3 while adding an assist, two steals, a block, and drawing a penalty to help keep possessions alive. Olay was active throughout the match, scoring twice while adding an assist, a steal, and drawing five ejections.
Laura Knight also contributed to the scoring effort, finding the back of the net once.
Lexanny Gonzalez finished efficiently, scoring on her lone attempt and contributing a steal on defense, while
Lucy Willis also found the back of the net and contributed defensively. In the cage,
Victoria Tamarit anchored the defensive effort with 10 saves and four steals, helping the Red Flash stay competitive across all four quarters.
