This past weekend, the Red Flash began NEC Play against conference newcomer New Haven. In that three-game set, sophomore Sofia Zielinski and senior Annabelle Farmer contributed significantly to their team's cause, helping them claim their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon.
So far this season, Zielinski has been one of the most consistent bats in the Red Flash lineup. Over the weekend, in her 10 at-bats, she recorded five hits, driving in five RBIs, including three home runs, along with a career-high eight putouts.
For the first time this season, Farmer gained recognition from the conference for her efforts both at the plate and behind it. Over the weekend, she produced in her 10 at-bats, slashing five hits, including two home runs, and plating two RBIs.
The Red Flash are back in action on Saturday, March 21, as they take on Central Connecticut State University in a three-game set, starting with a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
