Saint Francis men's tennis narrowly fell to Assumption College, 4-3, on Monday afternoon in the first day of their spring break slate in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ Â
While Saint Francis was unable to claim the pivotal doubles point, they secured a victory on court three, thanks to the sophomore duo of Blake Lorenzo and Beau Welker, who defeated their Greyhound opponents with a final score of 6-2, 3-6, 13-11.
In singles action, the Red Flash were on the wrong end of the win-loss column but managed to win three of their six matches. The first win came on court two, where Lorenzo triumphed in a third-set tiebreaker, finishing with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 10-6. The next victory occurred on court five, where another marathon match unfolded. Much like his doubles partner, the sophomore secured the win in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 13-11.
