OPENING TEE
Saint Francis women's golf is set to take the course at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Md., for the NEC Championships Friday through Sunday. Golfers will be competing 18 holes each day of the championship event. Competing for Saint Francis will be Camille Gagnon, McKenzie Gustas, Meghan Zambruno, Bryn Sorge, and Abigail McCorkell. Along with the Red Flash, Mercyhurst, New Haven, Stonehill, Wagner, Le Moyne, FDU, North Carolina Central, Chicago State, Delaware State, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, and LIU will all be making their way to the tee box.
LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis competed at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J., at Rutgers Golf Course. Robbin Zetrouer paced the Red Flash with a final round score of 80. She jumped 8 places from her first day spot to 53rd place. After the three rounds, the freshman ended the invitational with a 244. Zetrouer tallied a total of 21 pars and two birdies. Camille Gagnon finished the invitational in 77th place. The senior marked her scorecard with a three-round score of 255 after shooting an 87 on the final round. Gagnon recorded 17 pars and two birdies over the course of the two days. Bryn Sorge made her first appearance back on the course this spring season. The sophomore finished the invitational in 80th place. Over the course of the three rounds, she shot a 90, 88, and 82, marking her scorecard with an overall score of 260. She registered 14 pars and two birdies over the two days. Also competing for the Red Flash was McKenzie Gustas (77th, 259) and Abigail McCorkell (84th, 268). Saint Francis finished 12th at this event. The top five teams following the conclusion of the Rutgers Invitational include Rutgers (896), Penn (908), Dartmouth (910), Georgetown (932), and Seton Hall (931).

COACH CASCINOÂ BACK ON DUTYÂ
Cascino is in the fifth season of his third stint with the Red Flash and 13th overall. He was the women's golf head coach from 2005-12, for the 2017 season, and 2020-current. Saint Francis was successful in his first go-around with the women's golf program, leading the Red Flash to two consecutive Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships (2006 & 2007). In addition, he helped Saint Francis finish in the Top 3 of the conference postseasons in his first four seasons in Loretto. His son Lukas has joined the men's golf team for the 2023-24 season.Â
