TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Saint Francis went on a 4-1 run after leading the whole first half of the first set. Dorn started the run after a kill set up by Kyle Charles. Dorn then collected an ace from behind the line. Charles set up Nathan Zini for a kill down the left side. The set ended in Saint Francis's favor after a Manhattan service error. Manhattan could not keep up with the Red Flash, and Saint Francis won 3-0.
FLASH MOMENTS
The Red Flash went on a little 5-1 boost to keep their lead in the second set. Zini collected three kills, two of which were set up by Charles and the other one by middle blocker Brayden Gall. Senior Brady Stump grabbed his fifth kill of the evening followed by a Zini and Gall duo block. To end the set, Saint Francis went on another 5-0 run. Two kills from Stump and one from Zini put the Red Flash within two points of another clean set. Sam Lane had two back-to-back blocks to win set two.
In the middle of the last set, the Red Flash went on a 6-1 run to bring Saint Francis within seven points to claim victory. Charles got a tricky kill that was set up from Stump down the middle. Then Dorn and Gall recorded a duo block before Dorn had a kill of his own. Dorn continued his streak with two service aces to power the Red Flash forward. The set once again ended on a Jasper service ace.
FLASH NUGGETS
Stump, a two-time NEC Player of the Week, ended the night with 13 kills, two aces, two digs, and a .500 hitting percentage.
Charles tossed in 28 assists, six digs, and a . 400 hitting percentage.
Dorn recorded 11 kills, eight digs, two aces, and a .733 hitting percentage.
