LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis men's soccer opened its season Tuesday evening at Stokes Soccerplex, matching up with the Bearcats of Saint Vincent.
Saint Vincent found the back of the netting first with a goal in the first nine minutes back. After 21 scoreless minutes, Saint Francis answered back with an unassisted goal by
Japhy McGuinness. The Bearcats netted one again, going into halftime with a score of 2-1. The Red Wolves kept pressing, but ultimately, could not come out on top.
Gus Ryan made seven saves between the posts in today's match.
McGuinness recorded his first collegiate goal.
