BOX SCORE LORETTO, Pa. -- Saint Francis faced the Presidents in a Wednesday night PAC game. Freshman
Rylan Crowell led the Red Wolves with double digit kills.
With game tied at 10 in the first set, Saint Francis went on a 9-0 power run. Lorah Thomas and Ava Holden fueled the run after a massive duo block. Alexandra Sappia then set both Thomas and Holden up for a kill each. The libero, Yasmin Berres, nabbed herself an ace to force Washington & Jefferson to call a timeout. Holden registered two kills and a solo block in a row to give the Red Wolves the 18-10 lead. Crowell capped off the run with a solo kill. The Presidents fought their way back to game point, taking the set 26-24.
Late in the second set, with Washington & Jefferson up 18-13, the Red Wolves found some fuel to . Sappia set up Holden for a kill right down the middle. Emmi Adrian assisted Crowell on a kill right before grabbing herself an ace. Crowell collected another kill to force the Presidents to call another timeout. Three errors from Washington & Jefferson pushed the Red Wolves to a 20-18 lead. However, a couple kills and aces from the Presidents gave them their second win, 25-23.
The Presidents did not let down, claiming the third set 25-17.
Offensively, Crowell led with 13 kills, a .344 hitting percentage, and seven digs. Sappia followed closely behind behind her with 23 assists, 10 digs, six kills, and a .364 hitting percentage.
Defensively, Sappia led with 10 digs. Berres recorded eight digs and two aces.
The Red Wolves will travel to Beaver Falls, Pa. to face Geneva College and The College of Wooster in a tri-match. Both games will be played on Friday, the first starting at 3:30 p.m. and second at 5:30 p.m.
