SOPHOMORE (2010) – Started all 10 games in which he appeared … Picked up a career-best 28 tackles (10 solo, 18 assisted) … Had a season-high four tackles twice at Cal Poly (10/30) and at Duquesne (11/13) … Recorded another career-best in tackles for a loss with three and in sacks with three … His three sacks came in back-to-back-to-back games at Morehead State (9/11), versus Sacred Heart (9/17) and against Robert Morris (10/2) … Hurried the quarterback a team-best six times.

FRESHMAN (2009) - Impact freshman who won a starting job in camp and started all 11 games for the Red Flash at defensive end…. Showed good motor and athleticism for an 3-4 end…. Finished with 18 tackles (six solo, 12 assisted) in 2009… recorded 2.5 tackles for loss for a total of 11 yards… finished with one sack for a loss of nine yards, against Sacred Heart (10/10)… recovered a fumble against CCSU (11/21)… recorded one quarterback hurry against Albany (10/3)… had a season-high four tackles against CCSU (11/21)… younger brother of senior linebacker Ryan Shepard.

BEFORE SFU - Played fullback and defensive line at Kittanning H.S…. named First-Team All-Conference as a defensive lineman his junior year, and Second-Team All-Conference at the position in his senior year… also earned First-Team All-Conference as a fullback his senior year… named a Valley News Dispatch All-Star.
