SENIOR (2017) – NEC Pitcher of the Year… First Team All-NEC… NFCA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team… First Team All-ECAC… NEC All-Tournament Team… Tied an SFU season record with 19 wins and posted the second-best ERA in program history (1.68), leading the NEC in both categories this year… Ranked 44th in Division I in ERA, 50th in wins and 84th in hits allowed per seven innings (5.5)… Went 19-2 with two saves and nine complete games in 34 appearances (25 starts). In 141.1 innings, allowed 41 runs (34 earned) on 112 hits, struck out 82 batters and walked 38. Allowed an opposing batting average of .222… In NEC play, went 8-0 with a 1.19 ERA in 10 appearances (seven starts), with 32 strikeouts in 41.1 innings… Threw a five-inning perfect game against East Carolina (3/18), with one strikeout… Threw a six-inning No-Hitter at Bryant (4/22), with five strikeouts… Had six appearances with five or more shutout innings… Went seven scoreless innings against Cleveland State (2/18), with four strikeouts and allowed just one hit… Earned a win with seven-innings against UMass (2/24), allowing one run on six hits and striking out three… Picked up the win by going 4.2 innings at Texas Tech (3/17), giving up a run on four hits and striking out four… The next day, threw 5.2 shutout innings against Texas Tech, allowing five hits and striking out a batter… Went six innings to earn the win against LIU Brooklyn (4/10), giving up a run on four hits… Struck out a career-high 11 batters in seven innings at Mount St. Mary’s (4/15), allowing six hits and a run… Threw seven scoreless innings at Penn State (4/26) to earn the win by giving up just one hit and striking out five… Went four shutout innings against Sacred Heart (4/29), striking out three and allowing one hit, to pick up the win… Entered in relief and threw 6.1 innings to earn the win in SFU’s NCAA Regional victory over New Mexico State. Allowed seven hits and struck out three batters.
JUNIOR (2016) – Made 32 appearances in the circle, including 22 starts and five complete games. Went 9-9 with a 3.28 ERA in 113 innings. Struck out 52 batters and held opponents to a .259 average… Threw the first four innings of a combined No-Hitter, combining with Ketarah DeVries, in the season-opening win at UNC Wilmington(2/12)… Picked up a win against Army West Point(2/13), going six innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits and striking out one… Threw 3.1 innings at No. 21 Arizona State(2/27), giving up just one run on five hits… Earned a win after throwing four innings at Wagner(4/3), allowing just one run on three hits and striking out two… Pitched 4.1 shutout frames at Pitt(4/13), giving up just three hits… Threw a complete game for a win at Sacred Heart(4/16), allowing one run on five hits and striking out seven… Allowed one earned run over six innings in a start at Penn State(4/27)… Threw a complete-game shutout at Robert Morris(5/1), allowing three hits and striking out one… Went five shutout innings against Central Connecticut State(5/5), giving up three hits and striking out four… In the NEC Tournament, threw five shutout frames, giving up just two hits and striking out seven… Followed that with a five inning performance against LIU Brooklyn(5/13), allowing one run on four hits and striking out one… Threw 7.1 innings against Robert Morris(5/13) in the elimination game of the NEC Tournament, giving up three runs on eight hits. After starting the game and going 2.1 innings, re-entered with two outs in the 10th. Over her last five innings, gave up just one run on four hits.
SOPHOMORE (2015) – Finished second on the team with eight victories and led the Flash with four complete games … led the team with three saves … had season-high seven strikeouts in a complete-game win against Sacred Heart (3/4) … went five scoreless innings while allowing two hits in mercy-rule win at Mount St. Mary’s (4/11) … pitched a complete-game victory against Akron (3/6), allowing two runs on seven hits.
FRESHMAN (2014) – Finished the season ranked tied for third in the NEC in fewest runs allowed with 41 … Had fourth most relief appearances in the conference with 11 … Went 4-5 with a 3.92 ERA in 19 appearances and eight starts … Had five complete games and a shutout, against Mount St. Mary’s (5/4) … Pitched 5.1 scoreless innings while allowing just six hits in a victory over UMass Lowell (3/7) … Earned first career save against Brown (3/15) and pitched a complete game against the Bears the following day for her third victory.
BEFORE SFU - Through three varsity seasons at Pine Grove Area High School, Santai compiled a 45-5 pitching record, an 0.44 earned run average and 569 strikeouts all in 331 innings pitched. The 5-8 hurler was the Pottsville Republican 'Pitcher of the Year' and earned first team all-state recognition as a pitcher. Santai assisted in the Cardinals capturing a league title as well as a District XI AA championship.
