SENIOR (2017)- Named co-captain of the team... Scored a goal and an assist against Colgate (9/10)...Scored a goal against Saint Louis (9/29)...Posted an assist against Hofstra (10/15)...Scored a goal against VCU (10/20). 

JUNIOR (2016) – NAMED TO ATLANTIC 10 ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM… Started in all 20 matches during her junior campaign… Scored four goals and added an assist… Had 14 shots land on goal… Scored the game-winning goal against Siena (9/11).

SOPHOMORE (2015)- Appeared in 11 matches for the Red Flash as a sophomore...Scored two goals in SFU's 3-1 victory at Villanova...Scored on both shots and shots on goal during sophomore season

FRESHMAN (2014) - Appeared in six games for Saint Francis U during freshman campaign … Recorded a shot in 17 minutes of playing time in a 7-1 win over Siena on 9/13 … Played 21 minutes in a win over Colgate on 9/14 … Selected to NFHCA All-Academic Team.

BEFORE SFU - Castano comes to Loretto out of James M. Coughlin High School where she was a three-sport athlete and team captain of the field hockey team in 2013 ... The forward/midfielder led her team to a District 2 AAA Championship in 2012 and 2013 and a runner-up finish in 2011 ... Was named the Outstanding Female Student-Athlete in 2013 by her high school and earned All-State Honorable Mention ... Also a member of the Valley Styx Indoor Hockey Club, Castano played in the 2014 U19 National Indoor Tournament.
 
PERSONAL - Kyra is the daughter of Frank and Sharon Castano ... She intends to study Business Administration while at SFU.
