JUNIOR (2009) - Gombami started in six of the 11 matches he played in before suffering a season-ending injury in 2009… scored one goal and had five shots, including three on goal… scored only goal of season in 2-0 win over Duquesne (9/7)… Registered season-high two shots in wins over Duquesne (9/7) and Valparaiso (9/20).
SOPHOMORE (2008) - Tied for team lead with three goals while playing in 16 games, starting 10… finished tied for second on team with six points… recorded first career goal in 2-1 win at Bowling Green (9/21)… picked up first career game-winning goal, one of two on the day, against Bucknell (9/24)… had career-high four shots against Bucknell (9/24) and St. Francis-NY (10/19).
FRESHMAN (2007) - Transferred from Lee University in Tennessee, where he tallied three goals, including one game-winner, and added two assists in 23 games as a freshman while playing behind NAIA Player-of-the-Year, who was selected in the second round of January 2008 MLS SuperDraft… helped Lee to a 16-5-3 record and an appearance in the Southern States Conference championship match.
HIGH SCHOOL - Has been a member of the Zimbabwe U-20 National Team since 2005… played at Mzilikazi H.S., where he was the 2006 Sports Person-of-the-Year, Player-of-the-Year and U-20 Athlete-of-the-Year during senior season… while playing on Zimbabwe national team, Gombami helped his teammates as an U-20 National Coca-Cola finalist… named “Best History Student” at Mzilikazi… Economics and Finance major.
