EMMITTSBURG, Md. (Oct. 28, 2008) – The Saint Francis women's golf team fired a second round 346 on the second day of the Mount St. Mary's Fall Invitational to jump three spots and finish in a tie for third at the blustery two-day event.
Junior
Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio/Padua Francisan) (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) and freshman
Skylar Hay (Easton, Pa./Freedom) (Easton, Pa. / Freedom) both carded an 83 during the second round. They finished with identical scores of 84-83-167 to finish in a tie for ninth.
Fairfield won the event with a 328-336-664, Long Island took second, Fairleigh Dickinson and Hofstra tied the Red Flash in third, and Mount St. Mary's took sixth.
Sophomore
Caryn Doege (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway) shot a 87-84-171 to take 16th, sophomore
Kaitlin Hensal (Seville, Ohio/Wadsworth) (Seville, Ohio / Wadsworth) finished 27th with a 81-101-182, and sophomore
Laura Smith (State Line, Pa./Greencastle Antrim) (State Line, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) took 30th with a 89-96-185.
The two-day event at Mount St. Mary's wrapped up the fall season for Saint Francis.
