Red Flash Close Out Disappointing Weekend With Loss at No. 12 Lewis

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The 12th-ranked Lewis men's volleyball team held Saint Francis to a season-low .196 hitting percentage to hand the Red Flash their third straight loss on the weekend, 3-0, in Romeoville, Ill.

 

Juniors Jordan Varee (Conneautville, PA/Conneaut Valley) (Conneautville, Pa. / Conneaut Valley) and Nick Rivett (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Fox Chapel) had 13 and 10 kills, respectively, but no other SFU player had more than three kills in the 30-23, 30-27, 30-18 loss. Senior setter Shane Conley (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) dished out 27 assists.

 

Nathan Klaas paced the Lewis attack with 13 kills and a .524 hitting percentage. Billy Sahagian hit .500 with 10 kills, and Drew Pickering hit .300 with 10 kills.

 

Saint Francis, which was playing the fifth match of a seven match road trip, fell to 7-7 on the season, and will look to get back on track when it travels to No. 1 Penn State at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Lewis improved to 10-2 overall.
