CHICAGO, Ill. (Dec. 9, 2010) – It was announced today that former Saint Francis football player Josh Bentley has signed a contract to play with the Milwaukee Iron of the Arena Football league for the 2011 season. Bentley signed a one-year deal with the Iron.
“I'm very excited to be taking this next step in my career,” said Bentley. “It's a blessing to play football professionally, and I won't take the opportunity for granted.”
“This feels like a new beginning for me, the next step in my career.”
Bentley played in 33 career games for the Red Flash from 2006-09, recording 95 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, and 18 pass deflections. At the conclusion of his career, he was invited to participate in the Baltimore Ravens minicamp. According to Bentley, he hopes to again make a case to try out for a National Football League (NFL) club.
