FAIRFAX, Va. (Feb. 14, 2010) – There was no love on Valentine's Day for the Saint Francis women's tennis team, who fell 7-0 to George Mason in their spring debut on Sunday in Fairfax, Va. on Sunday.
Samantha Fulchiero (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) and
Juliana Gustafson (Keyser, W.Va./Keyser) (Kesyer, W. Va./Keyser) fell at No. 1 doubles to Kiersten Pappas and Lindsey Gray 8-0, while
Stephanie Rivera (El Paso, Texas/America's High School) (El Paso, Texas/America's HS) and Devyn Saver (Mt. Clemens, Mich./Fraser) earned the lone win of the day at No. 2 doubles by defeating Cecelia Marie Greco and Andrea Loden 5-8.
Fulchiero fell to Pappas at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-1, while Rivera lost to Gray at No. 2 singles.
GMU's Alison Wingo earned the win over SFU's Abby Ball (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria).
The Red Flash will host Loyola on February 20 in Ebensburg.
