SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Saint Francis women's tennis team enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the 2026 ITA Division III Women's Northeast Regional.
The Red Wolves will be sending two players to the ITA Cup.
Helena Lynn captured the singles championship on Sunday defeating Sieun Lee of Vassar College 4-6, 6-4 [10-1]
The top seed in the tournament, Lynn dominated the early rounds winning all matches in straight sets. In the semifinals, Lynn had to regroup after losing the first set, and did so again in the championship match on Sunday.
As a result of her victory, Lynn will now represent Saint Francis University at the ITA Cup which takes place Oct. 15-18 in Rome, Georgia. Lynn has also earned automatic All-American status for the 2026-27 season.
Sophia Cunningham will be joining her teammate in Georgia. Cunningham and Lynn were partners in the doubles tournament. The duo lost in the finals, falling to Nandini Chandra and Ginevra Muratori in straight sets, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1. Despite the loss the duo still qualified for the ITA Cup.
