EBENSBURG, Pa. (March 23, 2010) – The Saint Francis men's tennis team put up a good fight but fell to the Youngstown State Penguins 4-2 on Saturday at the Ebensburg Tennis Center.
Elahn Pogue (St. Catherines, Ontario/West Park Secondary) and Nathaniel Fleming (Gas City, Ind./Mississinewa) took a close 8-6 loss at No. 1 Doubles, while
Stephen Kowalski (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) (Tom's River, N.J./Tom's River East) and
Andres Rosa (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Colegio la Piedad) (Carolina, PR/Colegio de la Piedad) took a win by forfeit.
Pogue again was at the wrong end of another close match, falling to Tariq Ismail 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1 Singles, while Kowalski picked up SFU's first singles' win of the day at No. 3 by a score of 6-4, 6-2.
Rosa also earned an individual victory at No. 5 singles by a score of 6-3, 6-4.
Peter Dietrich (Halifax, Nova Scotia/Citadel) (Halifax, NS/Citadel) earned a win by forfeit.
The Red Flash will travel to Morgan State for a match on March 28.
