WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 29, 2010) – The Saint Francis women's soccer team suffered its second-straight setback Sunday, this time to Georgetown, by a 5-0 margin.
The Hoyas scored the eventual game-winning goal just three minutes into the match, as the Red Flash struggled to gain their offensive stride. Georgetown improved to 2-0 on the young season, while the Flash fell to 2-2.
Saint Francis goalkeeper Brianna Butcher (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) took the loss, making seven saves in the midst of Georgetown's 28-shot barrage.
SFU managed only three shots in the match, two of which were fired by reigning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Barbara Maros de Carvalho (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Sagrado Coraco de Jesus).
The Red Flash will look to rebound on Friday when they visit Lafayette for a 7:30 p.m. match.
