LORETTO, Pa. (Dec. 19, 2011) – Saint Francis heads west on Route 22 to take on the Pitt Panthers Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.
 
FLASH FACTS
- After starting the season 0-6 with five losses by eight or fewer, Saint Francis has won three of its last four including two conference triumphs and rallying from down 16 against American on Dec. 10.
 
- Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) leads the nation in field goal percentage making shots at a 77.6-percent clip. The SFU sophomore shoot better making over 88 percent of his shot in DeGol Arena. On the road, Eatherton, a Hershey, Pa. native, shoots 56.5-percent from the field.
 
- Anthony Ervin (Chesterfield, Va./Fork Union Military Academy) enters the Petersen Event Center riding a streak of five consecutive games with double-digit scoring off the SFU bench. The SFU junior forward has also seen a rise in his shoot over the past five games as he shot the ball at a 66.7-percent clip.
 
- Freshman Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) looks to take some of his success at home on the road as the Red Flash rookie shoots 54.5-percent from 3-point land at home and just 21.1-percent on the road.
 
- Rebounding the basketball has been keyed SFU success, In their three wins this season the Red Flash have won the rebounding battle. In their seven losses the rebounds have either been tied or favored SFU's opponent.
 
- Saint Francis holds a record of 0-28 all-time against Pitt and have not faced the Panthers since Dec. 4, 2004, Pitt knocked off the Red Flash 65-41. SFU has not won against a team for the city of Pittsburgh (Duquesne, Pittsburgh or Robert Morris), since knocking off RMU Feb. 17, 2004. 
 
- The Red Flash and Panther showdown features two of the top shooters in the country in Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) (NCAA leader) and Pitt's Nasir Robinson (fourth nationally). Both Eatherton and Robinson shoot above 69-percent from the field this season.
 
PA UNBEATEN IN NEC PLAY
The Saint Francis men's and women's basketball teams both opened Northeast Conference play with a pair of wins. The Northeast Conference holds two December conference contests each season and this season SFU's men's and women's programs combined for a perfect 4-0 mark. SFU's instate conference rival Robert Morris also earn a pair of wins by its men's program and a pair by its women's teams. With the wins, the State of Pennsylvania holds a perfect 8-0 mark to start NEC conference action.
