LORETTO, Pa. (Aug. 17, 2011) – The Saint Francis women's track and field team earned All-Academic team honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

"The academic achievement from both the men's and the women's Track & Field teams show that our student-athletes have the ability to focus on details,” head men's track and field coach Gordon Thomson said. “In addition, John Krimmel has done a wonderful job as director of Student-Athlete Development."

The USTFCCCA announced a total of 164 institutions earned the distinction of All-Academic team as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better. Saint Francis ranked as one of only five teams in the Northeast Conference to receive the honor. The Red Flash posted the second-best team GPA in the conference with a mark of 3.32.

Saint Francis ranked as just one of 65 teams nationally to post a team GPA over 3.30, ranking the Red Flash in the top 39-percent nationally in team GPA.
