Harker tabbed as full-time head cheerleading coach

LORETTO, Pa. (Sept. 1, 2011) – Saint Francis University's head cheerleading coach position, currently filled by Lindsay Harker, has been upgraded to a full-time position, Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications Jim Brazill announced.

“We are excited to bring Lindsay on full-time as our head cheerleading coach,” Brazill said. “Her experience with a championship-caliber cheerleading program at Slippery Rock, and her energy and work ethic continue to be a benefit to the program.”

Harker enters her second season as the head cheerleading coach at Saint Francis and brings the experience and poise of being associated with a championship program in the past.

"Cheerleading is such an integral part to any athletics program and I am honored to assume the position of head cheerleading coach here at Saint Francis University,” Harker said. “I hope to improve our game day atmosphere and create a strongly competitive cheerleading program at SFU for years to come. Go Red Flash!"

Harker attended Slippery Rock University, where she captained the All-Girl Cheerleading Squad from 2008-10. While at Slippery Rock, Harker was a member of the 2010 squad that won the Universal Cheerleaders' Association Division II national championship. A Hollidaysburg native, Harker has also acted as an assistant cheerleading coach at Bishop Guilfoyle High School since 2008.

In addition to actively cheering, Harker also served as a head instructor and competition judge for the Universal Cheerleading Association, where she was responsible for demonstrating routines, as well as conducting private camps and judging talent.

Harker also assists on marketing and promotions for the university. She is currently pursuing her Master's of Business Administration at Saint Francis.
