NEC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 28, 2012)
Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) of the Saint Francis University men's basketball team earned Most Improved Player honors for the 2011-12 season the Northeast Conference announced Tuesday.

Eatherton began the season converting 41 of his first 51 field goal attempts for the Red Flash and has remained among national leaders in field goal percentage throughout the year. He currently leads the Northeast Conference in field goal percentage and sits seventh nationally shooting the ball at a 61.4-percent clip for the season. The Hershey, Pa. native raised his scoring average from 3.9 ppg to 14.0 ppg, the biggest jump in the NEC this season, and ranks 13th in the league in point production.  He also lifted his rebound numbers from 2.1 to 7.0 rpg (ninth in NEC) and blocked 1.2 shots per game (seventh in NEC).

Eatherton ranks as just the eighth student-athlete in Saint Francis history led the Flash in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore, joining the ranks of Joe Anderson, Clarence Hopson, Sam Harris, Sandy Williams, Calvin Fowler, Wilbur Trosch and NBA Hall of Famer Maurice Stokes. Eatherton posted an NCAA leading 74.5-percent shooting at home, the sophomore missed just 27 shots in 106 attempts at DeGol Arena. His hot shooting led the Red Flash to the second-best home shooting percentage in nation.
