LORETTO, Pa. (April 13, 2012) – The Saint Francis University football team added nine more recruits to its 2012 rookie class Friday.
The Red Flash football program continued adding to its 2012 freshmen class Thursday with nine more student-athletes signing their letter of intent to the Saint Francis football team in the fall of 2012

Brandon Calhoun – OL/DL - 5-10 - 260 - West Philadelphia Catholic
Makes the journey to Loretto from West Philadelphia Catholic where he helped the Burrs to a 10-4 overall record in 2011 and to a final ranking of 33rd in the state of Pennsylvania. Under the direction of head coach Brian Fluck the Burrs posted a pair of wins in the state playoffs before falling to Lancaster Catholic. Calhoun helped the Burrs to four shutout wins and paved the wave for an offense that scored 28 points or more in 10 games in 2011. |

Anthony Damiano - RB/LB - 6-1 - 220 - Marian Catholic
Posted 125 tackles in his senior season with 15 of his stops coming for a loss. Damiano played his high school ball at Marian Catholic under head coach Stan Dakosty. A team captain in 2011 Damiano led the Colts in both tackles and tackles for loss and earned All- Anthracite Football League first-team honors and All-Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association first-team honors. From his fullback position Damiano helped pave the way for former Colt teammate Paul Martin who is also headed to the Northeast Conference signing with Wagner. Damiano is not the only Division 1 athlete in his family as his sister Amanda played softball at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Damiano also excelled in the classroom with a grade point average of 3.95.

Joshmere Dawson - DE/LB - 5-11 - 240 - Akron East
Joins the Red Flash from Akron East High School in Ohio after posting 62 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and five quarterback sacks. Prior to his senior season Dawson played mainly on the offensive side of the ball but excelled once moving to defense side of the ball to lead the team in tackles for loss. He earned first-team All-City Series on the defensive line.

Shane Fleegle - DL/C/LS - 6-2 - 208 - Windber Area
Stayed home to play for the Red Flash coming from local Windber High school where he helped the Ramblers to an 8-3 overall record in 2011. Fleegle posted 33 tackles and three sacks for the Ramblers and head coach Matt Grohal. Fleegle posted a19 solo tackles as a senior and recorded a single game season high of six tackles Nov. 12 against Northern Bedford County. Fleegle also fits a need for the Red Flash as a long snapper as former long snapper Ryan Zarnich (Rochester, Pa./Rochester Area) graduated this past fall. |

Justin Gdula - QB/SS - 6-4 - 220 - Forest Hills
Stayed home to play for the Red Flash coming from local high school Forest Hills. The 6-4, 220 pound quarterback threw for 1,663 yards in 2011 and 19 touchdowns leading the Rangers to an 8-3 overall record. Gdula directed the Ranger offense to nine games in which they tallied more than 24 points. He posted six games in which he passed for more than 150-yards and tallied more than 200-yards through the air twice. Gdula played one of this games last season at DeGol Field against Bishop Carroll and went 4-of-5 through the air with two touchdowns and 126-yards. Justin Gdula joins his brother Colin, a starting offensive lineman for the Red Flash.

Roberto Harris-Barron - OL/DL - 5-9 - 240 - Roman Catholic
Joins the Red Flash from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia where he helped the Cahillite to an 8-4 record. The Cahillte finished the season ranked 16th in the state under the direction of head coach Joe McCourt. Harrison moved around the front seven for Cahilltes until settling on the interior of the line. Harris Barron served as a run stuffer while also utilizing his pass rushing skills to disrupt passing plays.

Jeffrey “JJ” Paige - QB - 6-1 - 185 - Spring-Ford Senior
Posted a 10-2 overall record in his senior season as the quarterback for the Spring-Ford Rams. Paige led the Rams to a perfect 9-0 mark in conference play and posted the best game of the season against Owen J. Roberts going 15-for-23 with a pair of touchdowns with 212 yards through the air. Paige tossed just one interceptions in 2011while also rushing for more than 200 yards and five scores on the ground. He also displayed his flexibility catching five passing during the year.

Angelo Perrucci - WR/DB - 6-0 - 185 - Wilson Area
Joins the Red Flash as an athlete who saw time at Wilson Area High School as wideout, cornerback, safety and kick returner. Perrucci helped the Warriors and head coach Bret Comp to eight wins in the past two seasons. Perrucci saw time all over the field with 93 rushing yards and 235 total receiving yards. He also tallied five total offensive touchdowns highlighted by a season long 73 scoring grab against Saucon Valley. Perrucci also tallied 57 total tackles and broke double figures in tackles in two games. He also recorded four total pass deflections and a forced fumble in 2011. In the return game, Perrucci averaged over 13 yards a return for the Warriors. |

Austin Reese - K - 6-1 - 205 - Orchard Park
Comes to Loretto from the Orchard Park Quakers, who finished the 2011 season as the top ranked team in the state of New York. Reese, a kicker, helped the Quakers and head coach Gene Tundo to a perfect, 13-0 record a season ago. Reese, who handled both the punting and place kicking for the Quakers, earned First-Team Class AA South honors. Reese posted a season long last season of 37-yards as he picked up All-Section VI Class AA honor from MaxPreps.
