Saint Francis Suffers Setback Against Lees-McRae

BOX SCORE LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 10, 2013) – The Saint Francis University men's volleyball team lost to the Lees-McRae Bobcats in four sets, 16-25, 22-25, 25-20, 31-33 on Sunday afternoon.

Logan Patterson (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) led the Red Flash (4-8, 1-2) attack with 17 kills. The Bobcats (7-3, 5-3) took a 2-0 set lead and SFU could not organize a comeback.

Lees-McRae led the entire way through the first two sets. SFU regained some momentum in set three after a Patterson kill gave them a 10-8 lead. The Flash went on a 6-0 run highlighted by an ace from Lucas Behringer (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) and they went on to take the set.

There were 13 lead changes in the fourth stanza, and it proved to be a strong battle for both. The Bobcats held an early 7-2 lead, but SFU came back and held their first lead at 23-22. Lees-McRae had two separate 2-0 runs that led them to a win.

Colin Sherwin (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) also added 15 kills and seven digs. Adam Roche (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) posted nine kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Roche also led the team in blocks with four.
