WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (May 4, 2013) – After a day of competition at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships, the Saint Francis University men's track and field team sits in ninth place, while the women's team ranks 10th.
Brittany Johnson (Vienna, Va./George C. Marshall) won the 100-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 12.06, she will compete in the finals tomorrow at 2:05 p.m. Johnson also picked up a win in the 200-meter prelims with a time of 24.72. The finals will take place tomorrow at 2:45 p.m.
Chris Fischer (Altoona, Pa./Altoona ) led the men's squad with a fourth place finish in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:20.37.
Jasmine Campbell (Beaver Falls, Pa./Beaver Falls) earned a seventh place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.28 meters. In the javelin throw,
Leah Skedel (East Wheatfield, Pa./United) posted a sixth place finish with a mark of 39.78 meters.
Jordan Collins (Bayport, N.Y./Bluepoint) placed seventh in the discus throw with a mark of 38.88 meters.
Paris Cotman (Richmond, Va./Meadowbrook) placed third in the 400-meter preliminaries with a time of 56.72, the finals will take place tomorrow at day two of the Championships at 1:45 p.m.
Saint Francis will look to build on its day one performances tomorrow, the first event is the triple jump at 9:45 a.m.
