BOX SCORE BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team earned its first three-game sweep of the 2014 season with a 3-0 victory over the King Tornado on Friday night. The Flash won 25-16, 25-19, 25-19.

The Flash (2-1) never trailed throughout the match, with King (2-3) only tying SFU a few times throughout the evening. The Flash hit .440 in game one as the team jumped ahead early. After the Tornado tied the score at 8-8, the Flash went on a 17-8 run to finish off the first set.

Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) had two kills during a 4-0 run midway through the second set to put the Flash ahead, 16-8. King scored seven consecutive points to pull within 16-15, but Kyle Beatty (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) had three kills in the next four points for the Flash to put some room back in the match. Marshman and Beatty each finished with five kills.

Though the Flash never led by more than three for the majority of the third set, SFU always maintained a lead on the strength of Adam Barba (Meadville, Pa./Meadville)'s eight kills in the game. An ace by Xavier Krause (Butler, Pa./Butler) followed by a couple errors by King finished off the match. All of Barba's kills came in the third set. Colin Sherwin (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) hit .600 with seven kills on 10 attempts. Krause finished with two aces while Logan Patterson (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) had three. Mike Kresch had 16 assists while Michael Krepp (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) had 15.

The Flash have a quick turnaround as they play Lees-McRae tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
