PITTSBURGH – The Saint Francis swimming team lost its Friday evening meet at Duquesne, 156-98. The Flash recorded four individual victories in the effort.
Catherine Rogers (Nokesville, Va./Seton School) had two of those victories. She won the 50-yard breaststroke in 31.02 and the 100-yard individual medley in 1:00.77. She also finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 56.23.
Reigning Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week
Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen) posted a win in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:13.01. She also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.86. Fellow freshman
Emma Karell (Norrtalge, Sweden/Taby Swim Club) had a pair of second place spots, clocking a 1:08.98 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a 1:57.17 in the 200-yard freestyle.
Mary Margaret Folz (Valencia, Pa./Eden Christian Academy) rounded out the Saint Francis victories with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle. She took the event in a time of 10:52.72.
The Flash next hits the pool as it hosts a Homecoming Alumni Meet on Nov. 1 at 10:00 a.m. SFU returns to competitive action Nov. 7 at Wagner.
