LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 16, 2014) -- The Saint Francis U men's soccer team hosts the Northeast Conference Soccer Championships in Loretto, Pa. for the first time since 2003. The No. 1 seeded Red Flash move on to the Championship game after defeating the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds, 1-0, Friday evening. Competing in their fifth Championship game the No. 1 seeded Red Flash face off against the No. 3 seed St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers at 1 p.m. on the DeGol Field.

Andrew Garcia (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek Regional) ended the regular season tied with St. Francis Brooklyn keeper Jack Binks in shutouts with nine. Garcia and Binks both posted shutouts in their perspective NEC Semifinals contests. Binks boasts a 10-5-4 overall record, while Garcia posted a 12-5-1 mark. St. Francis Brooklyn oppositions have shutout the Terriers four times in 18 regulars season contests, while the Flash have been shutout in four contests.

(Oct. 17, 2014) – The Saint Francis University men's soccer team continued its dominance of St. Francis Brooklyn, 1-0, Friday night at DeGol Field, snapping the Terriers eight game unbeaten streak. The Red Flash (8-5-1; 2-1-0) have now won five straight games against the Terriers (6-5-2; 1-1-0), evening the series at 13.
The Northeast Conference foes took an even-matched back and forth battle into the half without a score. Both teams took six shots in the first half.
The scoreless tie was broken in the 68th minute by the games lone goal.
Francis de Vries (Christchurch, New Zealand/Cashmere) scored on a set piece 30 yards out, striking the top of the crossbar and deflecting in.
de Vries now has five goals this season, all which are game winners, raising his shot on goal percentage to 73%. de Vries also leads the team with 10 points.
Red Flash keeper
Andrew Garcia (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek Regional) picked up his league leading seventh shutout this season. Garcia recorded five saves in the shutout, including four in the first half.
Conner Rezende (Davie, Fla. /University School at Nova Southeastern) led all players with three of the Red Flash's 10 shots.
Calvin Rezende (Davie, Fla. /University School at Nova Southeastern) and
Ryan Byers (Scottdale, Pa./Southmoreland) also had two shots apiece.
Vincent Bezecourt and Lavatore Barone each had two of the Terriers 10 shots.
