SOMERSET, N.J. (Dec. 11, 2014) – Saint Francis U men's track and field freshman Jesse Brown (Island Heights, N.J./Central Regional) earned Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week nod following the opening week of the 2014-15 indoor track and field season.

Brown's performance at the Bucknell Bison Opener yielded a league-leading mark in the shot put. The Jersey Shore product put the shot 15.42m to finish fourth at the meet and claim the early-season NEC lead in the process. The mark is also good enough for fifth place on SFU's all-time performance list. In addition to his success in the shot, Brown's top fling in the weight throw ranks as the second best by a NEC thrower thus far this season.
