BOX SCORE FAIRFAX, Va. – Logan Patterson (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) became the fourth player in Saint Francis men's volleyball history to record 1,000 career kills Friday night at George Mason. The Red Flash defeated the Patriots, 3-1. Saint Francis won 25-22, 22-25, 27-25, 25-22.

SFU never trailed after a 9-9 tie in the first set.
Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central)'s kill held off a late George Mason rally and earned SFU a 1-0 lead. Saint Francis hit .333 in the set totaling 15 kills.

The Patriots (6-7) responded in the second set that featured 11 ties and five lead changes. Both squads battled back-and-forth throughout the set, but George Mason outlasted the Frankies 25-22 tying the match at one set apiece.

Patterson's sixth kill came in the third set giving the Red Flash (9-5) a 26-25 advantage. Saint Francis won the set 27-25 off a
Kyle Beatty (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) slam, placing the Frankies up 2-1. Patterson joins Jordan Ravee, Nick Rivett and Marc Honore to reach the 1,000-kill plateau. Ravee is currently the career leader in kills, with 1,864 from 2007-10. Patterson ended the day with nine kills and a .300 hitting percentage.

SFU began the forth and final set on a 6-0 rally. Beatty claimed two service aces during rally finishing the day with 15 points, nine digs, three service aces and two block assists. The Patriots rallied late in the set, but two late attacking errors gave Saint Francis the 3-1 victory.

Mark Kochan (Towaco, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) and Beatty produced double-digit kill performances. Kochan notched 15 with a .542 attacking percentage while Beatty tallied 11 and a .346 hitting percentage.
Michael Krepp (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) led the Red Flash with assists with 48.
Lucas Behringer (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) recorded a game-high 14 digs.
