Men’s Volleyball Returns Home Tonight

LORETTO, Pa. – It's a return to normalcy for the Saint Francis men's volleyball team as it returns to EIVA play while playing its first home game in over a month. The Red Flash hosts George Mason tonight and Princeton tomorrow afternoon.

SFU (9-10, 4-3) returns to conference play for the first time since playing Princeton on March 1 and returns to DeGol Arena for the first time since defeating Sacred Heart in four sets on Feb. 22. Since that victory over the Pioneers, the Flash has played six consecutive road games and just two EIVA games.

Tonight's matchup with George Mason (10-10, 4-4) begins the final stretch of seven conference games to finish the regular season. George Mason is currently just a half-game behind the Flash for the fourth and final EIVA playoff spot.

Paco Velez led GMU to a pair of victories over the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez last week. He had 23 kills in the two matches.

Saint Francis defeated the Patriots in four sets on Feb. 28, as senior Logan Patterson (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) recorded his 1,000th career kill in that match.  He will be honored before Saturday's match against Princeton for reaching that mark. Patterson became just the fourth player in school history to register 1,000 kills.

Princeton is currently ahead of the Flash in the EIVA standings, sitting with a 7-2 conference mark. The Tigers have won five consecutive matches heading into tonight's contest at Penn State. Princeton is the only team to defeat the Nittany Lions in conference play so far this season.

Tonight's match with George Mason begins at 7:00 p.m. while tomorrow's match with Princeton begins at 4:00 p.m.
