BOX SCORE IRVINE, Calif. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team stepped out of conference on Monday night and fell at Concordia (Calif.), three games to one. Concordia won 25-15, 25-27, 25-18 and 25-22.
Logan Patterson (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) led the Red Flash with 12 kills while
Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) posted seven kills and a .357 hitting percentage.
Lucas Behringer (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) had 12 digs and
Mark Kochan (Towaco, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) had four kills, two block solos and eight block assists.
After losing the first game, the Red Flash trailed 19-15 in the second set before scoring six of the next eight points to tie the game at 21. Kochan and
Colin Sherwin (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) had kills during that span. Concordia (15-4) scored the next two points, but again SFU answered with kills by Marshman and Sherwin. An attack error gave SFU set point, but the teams traded points until a kill by
Adam Kniffen (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) and two attacking errors gave the Flash a 27-25 victory.
Saint Francis finishes its brief two-game west-coast swing with a trip to California Baptist tonight at 10:00 p.m.
