WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (April 17, 2014) – The quarterfinal round of the 2014 Northeast Conference Tennis Championship is in the books and the third-seeded Saint Francis U men, for the first time in over a decade, are still in the mix.
The Red Flash rallied from a set down in three singles matches to upend #6 Mount St. Mary's, 4-2, at Mercer County Tennis Center. SFU advances to its first semifinal since to the 2001 season under first-year head coach
Rob Castille.
Tomorrow's semifinal will pit two-time defending NEC Champion and #2 seed Fairleigh Dickinson against #3 Saint Francis U. The Knights opened play with a 4-0 win over #7 Wagner.
Action begins on Friday at 10:00 am with the two men's semifinal matches.
