Mark Kochan (Towaco, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) hit .389 with 11 kills and
Logan Patterson (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) hit .400 with 10 kills as the Saint Francis men's volleyball team lost at Harvard in four sets on Saturday. The Crimson won 25-19, 25-16, 18-25 and 25-16.
Down 2-0, the Flash stayed even with the Crimson in the first part of game three. But SFU went on an 8-1 run to take the game from 7-7 to 15-8. Kochan had the first two points of the run, Patterson added one, and
Adam Barba (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) had an ace and a kill to finish the streak.
Colin Sherwin (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) had an ace to make it 18-11 and a kill to make it 22-16 to take the Flash to victory.
Harvard used a 5-1 run to distance itself from SFU midway through game one, putting its lead at 19-13. In game two, the Crimson scored nine of the first 11 points, but the Flash fought back with a 6-1 run to make it 10-8. Kochan,
Adam Barba (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) and
Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) each had a kill in the stretch. Harvard extended its leads later in the set, using a 6-1 run to take an 18-10 lead.
Saint Francis hosts its Senior Day next Saturday against Penn State, start time is 2:00 p.m.
