GETTYSBURG, Pa. (April 8, 2014) – The Saint Francis University men's golf team earned a third place finish at the Seahawk Spring Invitational hosted by Wagner College.
The Red Flash shot a 646 (316-330) two-round score and finished just behind LIU Brooklyn (627) and the host school, Wagner (638).
Kevin Fawcett (London, Ontario, Canada/Oakridge Secondary) led the way for Saint Francis as the junior shot a 160 (77-83), which was good for a seventh overall finish.
Chris Stricek (Binghamton, N.Y./Windsor) posted a two-day score of 162 (81-81) and placed tied for 10th overall.
Shane Crampton (London, Ontario, Canada/Saunders Secondary) also placed tied for 10th as he shot a 162 (77-85). Junior
Kyle Krout (Cogan Station, Pa./Montoursville) finished with a 167 (81-86) and placed fourth for SFU and 17th overall.
Saint Francis returns to action when it hosts the Red Flash Invitational on April 14-15 at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa.
Following the home tournament, SFU will have one final tune-up meet before it gets the opportunity to defend its Northeast Conference Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. on May 2-4.
