LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's and women's basketball teams are hosting their first Sideline Cancer games this Saturday during the doubleheader against Fairleigh Dickinson.
Â
Sideline Cancer and the Griffith Family Foundation has local ties to the area as its founder Cathy Griffith lives in Hollidaysburg. Cathy lost her 50-year old husband to pancreatic cancer in 2012. Cathy is a dear friend of the Saint Francis U women's volleyball team chaplain Lisa Georgiana.
Â
"As a personal friend of Greg I am thrilled to be able to help bring Sideline Cancer to Saint Francis University," Georgiana said. "Greg's wife – my dear friend Cathy – and I do believe that someday there will be no more cancer. This is our little way of trying to plant seeds to help inspire people to be aware and alert of the many opportunities there are to become involved in the fight."
"Together we can sideline pancreatic cancer," says founder of Sideline Cancer Cathy Griffith.
