LORETTO, PA- Saint Francis' head women's basketball coach
Joe Haigh announced this week the addition of forward Kyasia Duling, a transfer from Duquesne University.
Duling, a 6-3 forward, played two seasons for the Dukes before transferring to Loretto. She will be eligible to play after the first semester next season. Duling played in 28 games last year, her sophomore season, and scored a career-high 11 points in the Dukes win over the Red Flash. She averaged 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds and six minutes per game. As a freshman, Duling played in 17 games averaging one point and one rebound per game.
"We are really excited to have Kyasia join the Saint Francis University and the Red Flash family," Coach Haigh said. "Ky is a great athletic talent who is strong and powerful defender and an excellent rebounder."
The Zanesville, Ohio native was a star at New Albany High School where she averaged a double/double of 12 points and 10 rebounds per game while leading the school to a 17-win senior season. She was named a Division-I All-Central District Special Mention by the Associated Press and was named a "Top-25 Senior" by the Ohio Girls Basketball Report.Â
"Ky has a big upside, especially at the offensive end," Haigh added. "Having her in practice this year will really help our young post players develop and grow. We look forward to having her competing with us in December 2016."
